shawls. It also felts with an amazing curly
texture that's perfect for hats. It's
lightweight, very warm, and comes in a beautiful
array of colors.
Frog Tree Alpaca is
produced by a non-profit cooperative in Bolivia.
They start with the raw alpaca fibers and go
through the entire process of sorting the fibers
according to color, cleaning, carding, spinning,
and dyeing the yarn. The cooperative provides
work to a number of women to supplement their
household income.
The importer, T & C Imports, is a not-for-profit
and they take no salaries.
Their mission statement: to supply meaningful
and continuous work to various artisans and
non-profit groups, provide income for these
families and their Communities, and use funds
from our project to support worthy educational
causes. |
